Goalie gear that fits.
Find the right size for Brian’s leg pads, goal pants and chest protectors. Take the key measurements and compare them with the charts below.
These charts are a guide. The fit of a specific model and the way it works with the rest of your gear can affect the final size.
To choose Brian’s leg pads, measure the distance from the inside ankle bone to the centre of the knee (ATK) and from the knee to your preferred thigh-rise height. Your overall height alone is not enough.
Bend your leg slightly. Place a flexible tape measure at the inside ankle bone and measure dimension A as shown. Then measure dimension B and compare both values with the chart.
Measurements have been converted from inches and rounded to 0.1 cm. 1″ = 2.54 cm. Size labels follow Brian’s original chart.
Some sizes share the same ATK measurement but have a different thigh rise. Use the chart as a starting point and confirm the final fit by trying on the specific model.
Compare your height and waist measurement. Wrap a flexible tape measure around your waist without pulling it too tight.
JR = junior, INT = intermediate, SR = senior. Converted from Brian’s measurements and rounded to 0.1 cm.
Try the pants on with your chest protector and knee guards. The individual pieces should not interfere with one another as you move. Adjust whether you tuck or untuck the chest protector to suit your gear setup.
For a chest protector, compare both your height and arm length from shoulder to wrist. These measurements help you choose the right torso and arm coverage.
Measure arm length from the shoulder to the wrist. Values have been converted from Brian’s measurements and rounded to 0.1 cm.
When trying it on, check your arm reach and how the chest protector meets the pants. It should not restrict normal goaltending movement. If your measurements point to different sizes, try on the specific model before deciding.
Have your measurements and model name ready. We will help you check the fit and choose the right size.
