Teams arrived from all over the country – from nearby Jaroměř, Náchod, Nová Paka, Vrchlabí, and Litomyšl to more distant clubs such as Benátky nad Jizerou, Litoměřice, Mělník, Kolín, Česká Lípa, and Most. The longest journey was made by HC Vítkovice Ridera from Ostrava.
The tournament kicked off on Wednesday, March 25, with group stages determining the playoff seeding, using a format similar to the Olympic hockey tournament.
Friday offered much more than just hockey. The morning “school game” created an unforgettable atmosphere thanks to over 300 children from local schools, who filled the stands with loud support.

Although the home team Jaroměř lost 2:5 to Litoměřice, the experience was unforgettable.
Friday evening featured the SABE Skills Competitions, where players showcased their individual abilities.

Saturday’s playoffs delivered intense and emotional matchups. However, the tournament also faced complications when a team fielded ineligible players, leading to disqualification and adjustments in standings.
Despite this, the tournament concluded in a fair and competitive spirit.
The Josef Veselý Award for fair play was awarded to HC Junior Mělník.
For more than 15 years, the tournament has included a charity initiative supporting children from a special school and children’s home in Jaroměř.
This year, the collection approached 30,000 CZK, proving that hockey can do more than just entertain – it can help.
