Aycane A-Shield Crew Skate Socks are designed for players who want cut-resistant protection in a modern lower-profile cut without unnecessary bulk inside the skate. They use dedicated cut-resistant yarn in the shaft, calf, ankle and Achilles areas and pass ANSI/ISEA 105 Method ASTM F2992-15 at Level A5, as well as EN ISO 13997:1999 at Level E. The socks are designed to fit in hockey skates and provide cut resistance, not complete cut-proof protection.
Key features
Mid-calf crew height
The lower crew cut is made for players who prefer a shorter sock profile while keeping cut-resistant coverage.
A5 cut-resistant protection
Cut-resistant yarn in key zones meets the ANSI/ISEA A5 standard and helps reduce the risk of skate blade injuries.
EN ISO 13997 Level E
The material also passes the EN ISO 13997:1999 TDM-method test at Level E.
Single-layer construction
The single-layer design combines protective function with minimal bulk, helping the sock feel thin inside the skate.
Thin sole area
Ultra-light and thin material in the sole area helps preserve direct skate contact and feel.
Moisture-wicking and quick-drying design
Chimney construction helps move moisture away from the foot and supports a drier feel during play.
Technology and construction
ANSI/ISEA A5 cut-resistant protection
The socks pass ANSI/ISEA 105 Method ASTM F2992-15 at Level A5. This rating describes the material’s laboratory-tested cut resistance, but it does not mean complete protection against all injuries.
EN ISO 13997 Level E
EN ISO 13997:1999 using the TDM method evaluates cut resistance. Level E confirms the high protective performance of the cut-resistant layer according to this test.
Single-layer design
The single-layer construction helps combine protection with minimal bulk. Inside the skate, the sock avoids an overly thick feel and helps maintain a more natural skating sensation.
Chimney construction
The chimney construction moves moisture away from the foot. In practice, it helps create a drier environment inside the skate during intense movement.
Seamless toe construction
The seamless toe helps reduce pressure points in the front of the skate. This is especially useful during longer practices or games, where seams can increase discomfort.
Who is this product for
Aycane A-Shield Crew Skate Socks are suitable for hockey players who want lightweight cut-resistant skate socks in a lower crew height. They are made for players who prefer a thin skate feel, moisture management, protection in key zones and a mid-calf fit. The product significantly reduces the risk of skate blade injuries, but it is not cut-proof and cannot guarantee complete protection against cuts.
