Deburring is an important final step in the skate sharpening process. The Sparx SAMURAI makes it considerably easier: simply guide the blade through the unit and the dedicated Sparx Deburring Disc provides a smooth finish while helping maintain the freshly sharpened edges. It offers a faster and more repeatable process than manually finishing each edge with a honing stone.
Key features
Simple blade deburring
Guide the blade smoothly through the machine and the Sparx SAMURAI helps remove the small burrs created along the edges during sharpening.
No direct contact with sharp edges
The enclosed design allows the blade to be finished without touching its sharp edges by hand, making the process more comfortable and controlled.
Compatible with different steel types
The machine works with standard, coated, mirrored and painted steel. The included guide is designed for 3 mm blades; a separate guide is required for 4 mm steel.
Long disc lifespan
A single Sparx Deburring Disc can finish approximately 200 pairs of skates. Actual lifespan may vary depending on use and deburring technique.
Tool-free replacement
Once the disc is worn, it can be removed and replaced without tools, keeping regular maintenance quick and straightforward.
Technology and construction
Sparx Deburring Disc
The dedicated disc uses a proprietary Sparx material formula. As the blade passes through, it removes burrs and smooths its sides while helping preserve the freshly sharpened edges.
Adjustable disc position
The red adjustment dial positions the Deburring Disc correctly against the metal guide. It can also be used to compensate for gradual disc wear during its service life.
